Alarms
Explore the Collection
DewCrest alarm arrangements are built on the Somfy ecosystem: wireless sensors, sirens, hubs and cameras that can be taught to work in concert with shutters and other physical measures.
The purpose is not only to signal an intrusion, but to change the condition of the property.
An alarm event can close shutters, bring up lighting, activate cameras and create a physical response—measured, quiet and effective.
The collections below reflect common scenarios in which an alarm‑sensitive shutter deployment is appropriate.

Applications
Perimeter Early‑Warning Alarms
Somfy IntelliTAG sensors recognise vibration patterns and forced‑opening attempts on doors, windows and shutters.
They signal intrusion at the earliest moment—often before a shutter is lifted or a lock is compromised.
When an IntelliTAG triggers, indoor and outdoor sirens can respond immediately, and shutters linked through TaHoma can close or lock down adjacent openings. Exterior lighting can activate to eliminate concealment and guide cameras to the affected approach.
This early‑warning configuration is suited to ground‑level façades, rear garden doors, garden‑level windows, and any opening that is easily reached from the outside.
Night & Perimeter Mode Alarms
Properties often require a different posture at night: secure at the boundary, unconstrained inside. Somfy systems allow a perimeter‑only mode, arming sensors on doors, windows and shutters while leaving internal circulation undisturbed.
With TaHoma, shutters on selected façades can close automatically when night mode is set. An attempted breach triggers sirens discreetly inside or forcefully outside, depending on preference. Exterior lighting and cameras can activate to illuminate and record the relevant area.
Away & Lockdown Alarms
When a property is unoccupied, shutters, alarms, cameras and lighting can operate as one. Arming the system places the building into a lockdown mode:
All selected shutters close.
All sensors—IntelliTAGs, contact points, interior motion detectors—arm simultaneously.
Approach cameras begin recording on triggers.
Outdoor sirens and lighting stand ready to expose any attempt to force the perimeter.
This configuration suits city homes during travel, secondary residences, and boutique commercial properties after hours.
Storefront & Premises Alarms
For commercial façades, shutters and alarms must work together. Somfy IntelliTAGs monitor both the shutter and the glass behind it, while exterior sirens and lighting make any interference conspicuous.
A single arming action can:
close shutters,
activate perimeter sensors,
prepare the outdoor siren,
and set cameras to record on disturbance.
This arrangement is ideal for boutiques, galleries, jewellers, pharmacies and other spaces where the façade is both display and vulnerability.
Outbuilding & Grounds Alarms
Garages, workshops, pool houses and service courts sit at the edge of many properties. Somfy sensors can be extended to these structures, linking them into the same modes as the main residence.
Doors, windows and shutters can be monitored with IntelliTAGs; interior spaces with motion detectors; and approaches with lighting or cameras. When the property enters night or away mode, these areas adopt the same secure posture.
This is well suited to laneway garages, garden studios, equipment sheds and detached service areas.
Internal Area & Safe Storage Alarms
Some rooms require protection even when the rest of the property is open: dressing rooms, archive spaces, storage rooms and small strong rooms. Somfy sensors can monitor these internal points while leaving surrounding areas unarmed.
Alarms in these spaces can trigger local shutter closures, specific lighting responses, or discreet notifications depending on the sensitivity of the contents.
This configuration creates an inner defensive layer without changing how the living or working environment feels day to day.
Alarm Systems That Deny Access
Alarm systems should not operate in isolation.
In a DewCrest arrangement, Somfy sensors, sirens and cameras are specified for their relationship to shutters, lighting and the wider routine of the property.
We pay attention to:
-
How shutters and alarms reinforce one another
-
Which areas require night, perimeter or full‑away modes
-
How cameras and lighting support verification and response
-
How the system should behave under stress, with minimal input from you
The result is clearer, calmer and more effective than any single device.
